Dianne's Story
What happened to my story? There was one here! Anyway, I started nursing school the Sept. after we graduated- I went to Moutainside Hospital School of Nursing, Montclair, and met my future husband 3 mos. later. I graduated nsg. school in 1976, and started working at Point Pleasant Hospital as a graduate nurse. I got my RN a few months later, and continued to work on a med-surg unit. Rich (who graduated from Wall High the same year as me) and I got married in 1977, and we moved to Brick where we have been ever since. We have 2 daughters, Christine and Stephanie, who are now 30 and 28, respectively. Stephanie is married, and I am the proud grandma of one grandaughter, Lilly. baby, but it was a difficult pregnancy for my daughter and hard for us when we found out she had a relatively rare birth defect, a mass on her left lung (not cancer) but she had to have the lower lobe of her left lung removed at 5 weeks at CHOP. She is fine now, and expected to have no limitations. She is starting to talk now and tries to say "grandma" and it just touches my heart! I have been in nursing on and off since 1976, and have worked in med-surg, post coronary care, pediatrics, agency, private duty nursing, and almost half my career has been in long term care. I am currently a manager on a 38 bed Alzheimer unit at Laurelton Village in Brick. I would love to talk to more of my classmates- get in touch!
